In the book they did something where a bunch of people show up to a place to try to show their belief on something, and try to change what is going on in their comunity. In the book I think it was called a demonstration. the definition of demonstration is: a public meeting or march protesting against something or expressing views on a political issue. So this can relate to things that people are doing today. For example there is one in brazil called "The anti-world cup protest."
I choose these two picture because it shows that together, things are stronger. But alone things are weaker. So when people do a demonstration it would benefit more with a lot of people than just one person. Like how a rope is more stronger together than just one string. And it could benefit the most when it's together, than alone.

  3. Anna, I really liked how you connected the book with rope. I agree that together you are stronger, but alone you are weak. It would benefit it better if there is more people involved. Rather than just one person. By connecting the rope with the book, you made me think more further about the book.
    Nice post!

    1. I agree with you as well, I also liked how her post was thoughtful, especially when she said that together things are stronger, but alone things are weaker. An example she could've put there is how Marji's parents responded when she asked if she could go to demonstrate. Marji really wanted to demonstrate to help, but I think her parents did the right thing by telling her that she couldn't go. Marji was not old enough to understand the danger of demonstrating.

  4. I think these pictures that you chose are very good. I believe they are like a rope, too. When we change something we need to work with cooperation. I like your words, "together things are stronger, but alone things are weaker." This relates to us. I think to help people who are trying to change something is important, so I can understand Marji's feeling. She also had thought that she wanted to change this world.

  5. I really liked your post. I think you found really good pictures that really summarize what you said in your post. I can really see how demonstrating and the ropes connect and are similar. I like how you got an example that is actually happening here in Brazil. I like how that almost relates to life experience because we are all in Brazil. I was just wondering, do you know why people are demonstrating in Brazil and where?

  6. Anna, I agree with what you mentioned on your post. I think now a days its called protesting instead of demonstrating. I thought your post was very thoughtful, especially when you said that together things are stronger, but alone things are weaker. An example you could've put there is how Marji's parents responded when she asked if she could go to demonstrate. Marji really wanted to demonstrate to help, but I think her parents did the right thing by telling her that she couldn't go. Marji was not old enough to understand the danger of demonstrating. Moving on to the images you chose, I thought it was very creative to use ropes as an example of being strong together. An image that also shows that together things are strong, is this image http://www.tycobblittleleague.com/images/Softball_2.jpg This image shows teamwork. In sports, teamwork is the most important thing, and is what makes the team strong. But alone, or in other words without a team, its would be weak, just like you said a string alone would we weak. Overall, I though you post was very creative and was interesting to read.
