                Maus is a story that Artie listens to his dad to make a story about the holocaust and his experience there. His father was a holocaust survivor and so was his step mom. Artie's mom died before so he married again to another holocaust survivor. Artie listens to the stories his father tells to him. Artie is a writer who finds for ideas to make up a story since it is his job. But he found out that his father was a holocaust survivor and wanted to make a story about his life during then so it happens.

              The Holocaust (from the Greek ὁλόκαυστος holókaustos: hólos, "whole" and kaustós, "burnt"), also known as the Shoah (Hebrew: השואה, HaShoah, "the catastrophe"), was a genocide in which approximately six million Jews were killed by the Nazis and its collaborators (wikipedia). From 1941 to 1945, Jews were targeted and methodically murdered in a genocide, the largest in modern history, and part of a broader aggregate of acts of oppression and killings of various ethnic and political groups in Europe by the Nazis. But few people survived and lived through now like Artie's parents. The idea of the Nazis were that the Jews made them poor because even though Germany was poor many jews were rich and healthy so they thought they should be killed.

The Holocaust

           The Nazi is an army or particular people who worked with Hitler to rule the whole Europe. Which was impossible since there were many Democratic countries and communist countries that thought that Germany was dangerous. But to start off, we need to figure out about Nazism. Nazism (alternatively spelled Naziism), or National Socialism (German: Nationalsozialismus), is the ideology and practice of the German Nazi Party and state. It is sometimes applied to other far-right groups. Usually characterised as a form of fascism that incorporates scientific racism and antisemitism, Nazism arose from pan-Germanism, the Völkisch German nationalist movement and the anti-communist Freikorps after World War I (Wikipedia). There were some fascist who also worked with Hitler. They were Mussolini and Hirohito. They were the fascist leaders of Italy and Japan, who were thinking the same idea as Hitler. How would I rule over many parts of the world, and they found out they had the same thoughts and decide to ally with each other.

And this was how Artie got to hear all of what his dad survived.
