Connection Captain By Gustav Nielsen

Connection Captain :

The author brilliantly  described the conditions of life in Europe during the the Second World War and the toughness and struggles made for anyone who was different from what the Nazis thought was perfection. The idea of perfection made the Nazis want to get ride of the ‘imperfects’ so from 1939 to 1945 the Nazis killed around ten million people solely on their differences. I believe is truly an act of injustice and an hateful denial of different cultures and beliefs.

It saddens me, that this type of cultural disapproval is currently taking place today. There is a terrorist organization who call themselves IS (Islamic State). This group is creating immense terror on Arabian soil and around the world because of their intolerance towards anyone who is not associated with their beliefs. This vicious group is willing to torture and execute anyone with opposing beliefs; the similarity here is that IS are executing the same thing that Nazis did during World War two. Although I knew there were horrible people in the world,  it  angers me is that the are still after 76 years there are still groups of humans who have no respect towards others and their beliefs.

  1. Gustav,
I really liked that you explained what you were talking about, and didn't just assume the reader knows what you are talking about. I agree with you that it is shocking that after so many years there are still people that do horrible things just like they did in World War II. This makes me realize how little people have changed throughout the years. What really changed is the new technology, but the ideology in those groups are still the same.

  2. Gus,
I post was really reflective. I found some very interesting points I would like to comment on. When you said that the IS ideals are similar to the Nazi ideals, intolerance to other religions and beliefs. I would like to ask you a sincere question, do you believe that IS is received some ideas from the Nazi regime? Do you think that the IS leaders are trying to make a sort of perfect world just like the Nazi's? What do you think?

  3. Hey Gus, I really enjoyed your real life connection to what is happening right now. The other day we were working on facts about WW2. We were supposed to explain why we should remember the war and the Holocaust. Most people responded that we should remember to not commit it again, but even now, different groups of people are executing the same thing. Why do you think people are doing this again?

  4. Gus I really liked that you explained well what you were talking about, but I don't think that will make the reader understand or assume what you are talking about. Also adding to your connection, war always leaves behind a pain somewhere to the innocent people. You also could have added on pictures of the IS as you mentioned. But otherwise great post!
