"Red Scarf Girl" is a book about the chinese revolution where this women called Ji-Li Jiang is trying out for the "Libertation Army" But her parents didn't want her to go because of their dark history in the Chinese culture. One day, Ji-Li-Jiang's school started to write posters for a movement. This posters were criticising the educational system of the school that Ji-Li-Jiang." 'Red Scarf Girl' is a memoir written by Ji-li Jiang about the Cultural Revolution from a "black" family's point of view. It depicts her teenage years during the Cultural Revolution, and the humiliation her family suffered because Ji-Li's late grandfather was a landlord, therefore labeling her family "black" (the opposite of "Red", the color of Communism).
